The Consulate-General of the People's Republic of China in Gothenburg was established in 1997, with a consular district of 7 counties in south-western Sweden, including Västra Götaland, Skåne, Värmland, Blekinge, Kronoberg, Halland and Jönköping. Southwest Sweden has a long history of friendly exchanges with China. Historical and famous cities, industrial towns, shipping hubs, enterprises and universities are gathered here. Also many Chinese people work, study and live in this part. In recent years, Chinese local governments have maintained frequent exchanges with counties and cities inside the consular district. Economic and trade cooperation between China and Sweden continues to deepen and cultural exchanges have become increasingly active.

The Consulate-General looks forward to working together with all sectors of society in the consular district to promote friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation, to achieve steady and sustained development of the relationship between China and Sweden. We are committed to put people-centered philosophy into action, work hard to offer high-quality consular services to overseas Chinese, Chinese students as well as Chinese enterprises, and  make every effort to safeguard their legitimate rights and interests. Also we will serve as a window and a platform for the local people to understand China, to bridge friendship between the two peoples.
