Xi Jinping Meets with Former President Almazbek Sharshenovich Atambayev of Kyrgyzstan

On April 11, 2018, President Xi Jinping met at Boao State Guesthouse in Hainan Province with former President Almazbek Sharshenovich Atambayev of Kyrgyzstan, who came to China to attend the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2018.

Xi Jinping pointed out that it was very nice to see the old friend. Developing China-Kyrgyzstan strategic friendly relations is an important part of China's building of a community of shared future in its neighborhood. China supports the development path Kyrgyzstan has chosen and the domestic and external policies the country has upheld based on its national conditions, and is pleased to see the development achievements of Kyrgyzstan. China has focused on good neighborliness and friendliness and always regarded righteousness as the top priority when conducting cooperation with Kyrgyzstan. In recent years, the cooperation between the two countries in the joint building of the "Belt and Road" has achieved a batch of important early harvests, which is of great significance for the economic and social development of the two countries. China stands ready to, together with Kyrgyzstan, well conduct the related projects and elevate bilateral cooperation to higher levels. It is hoped that you, as Chairman of the ruling party of Kyrgyzstan, will continue playing a positive role for the development of China-Kyrgyzstan relations.

Almazbek Sharshenovich Atambayev expressed that President Xi Jinping delivered a very brilliant speech yesterday, charting the course for the development of human society, which is admired by the world. The current Kyrgyzstan-China relations have reached the level of strategic partnership. He thanked China for providing assistance for the economic and social development of Kyrgyzstan. He is willing to continue being committed to promoting the enhancement of bilateral cooperation to benefit the people of the two countries.
